The previous serial data network connection (34 Mbit/s) between the Zittau and Görlitz sites has been replaced by a fixed connection with a bandwidth of 1 Gbit/s.

This means that all users of the

university network

at the Görlitz site and the connected facilities now have a faster, more powerful connection to all central network services at the Zittau site as well as the connection to the science network/Internet located here. Possible bottlenecks during intensive use at the Görlitz site are now a thing of the past.
