The AAL Lab in the running for the Lausitz Science Transfer Prize (LWTP) 2020

The Lausitz Science Transfer Prize (LWTP) - awarded by Wirtschaftsinitiative Lausitz e.V. - aims to improve and further expand networking between Lausitz companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, in Brandenburg and Saxony with universities and scientific institutions. The LWTP is awarded to outstanding and exemplary projects that promote research and development, innovation, technological competence, knowledge and practice transfer in the mutual transfer between companies in Lausitz and universities.

This year, the HSZG also participated in one of the innovative projects in cooperation with KommWohnen Service GmbH.

In February 2020, the participating cooperation partners presented their projects to a jury. At the same time, they recommended themselves for the LWTP 2020 award.

The project submitted by the HSZG - AAL Lab - aims to establish technical assistance systems in the daily lives of older people. The aim is to make everyday life easier and sustainably improve quality of life. Through implementation in a facility for senior-friendly living, the technologies are tested in practice and continuously optimized.

Following the selection process, the winners have now been awarded and announced in June 2020. The Lausitz Economic Initiative has offered prize money totaling 10,000 euros. This year, the first prize of 5,000 euros will be donated by the Sächsische Aufbaubank - Förderbank. Prize money totaling 10,000 euros will be awarded. The winning project will receive 5,000 euros, second place 3,000 euros and the third prize winner 2,000 euros.

Unfortunately, the HSZG is not one of the three winners of the LWTP 2020 with its submitted project "AAL Lab".

  • The 1st prize goes to the project development for sustainable Lausitz mining succession(project participants: GMB GmbH with IURS e. V. and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg).
  • The 2nd prize goes to the development of a test rig for determining the erosive wear of bulk materials(project participants: Kreisel GmbH & Co. KG with BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Department of Machine Tools)
  • And the 3rd prize goes to Position sensor-controlled lightweight construction - active lifter for use in the outpatient care sector(project participants: Großenhainer Maschinenbau GmbH with BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Institute of Medical Technology and the Chair of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Design).
