Climate change, dwindling fossil resources and economic crises increasingly call for sustainable corporate management. How much energy does my company consume? How does it compare with the industry average? These are questions that will be answered by a new acquisition from the University Library:
Energy efficiency benchmark for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in industry : with sector energy efficiency indicators for 2012
This publication was compiled by Zittau/Görlitz University professors Wilhelm Riesner and Jörg Lässig by evaluating the energy consumption of over 44,000 industrial companies in Germany.
You can now borrow this publication from the University Library. It is primarily intended to support local industry in increasing its energy efficiency in the context of student assignments, internships and final theses, as from 2015 German industry must achieve an annual target of at least 1.3% energy efficiency improvement to comply with the EU Energy Efficiency Directive, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular having to make their contribution.
In addition to 310 indicator sheets for the individual sectors of industry, the catalog also contains instructions for using the energy efficiency benchmark for SMEs in industry for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, which was also developed by the authors and can be accessed at www.energieeffizienz-benchmark.de.
