Since the end of December, there has been an overhead scanner in the University Library at both locations for easy digitization of scripts, pages from newspapers and magazines as well as books.
The scanner is from the company Zeutschel and is called zeta.
The new zeta delivers high-quality data in the highest resolution in no time at all.
Kafka would be delighted, because with the zeta the book lies on its spine and is scanned extremely gently from above. You simply turn the page after each scan. The software automatically straightens distorted letters in the book fold or in creased plans as well as crooked originals. You can view each scan in advance on the high-resolution touchscreen monitor. This means that incorrect copies are a thing of the past.
The scanned pages can be taken home immediately on a USB stick.
