The year 2017 begins with a very special sporting highlight for the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Tom Krause will be competing on behalf of the HSZG at the 28th Winter Universiade - also known as the World Student Games - in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The SC Kottmar athlete is studying industrial engineering at the HSZG in his third semester. "Last summer, a long-time training colleague gave me the idea to apply for the 28th Winter Universiade. I'm delighted that it actually worked out and will give it my best shot," explains Tom Krause, who learned cross-country skiing and ski jumping at the age of 3. At the age of 12, he went to the Klingenthal sports boarding school to pursue Nordic combined as a competitive sport. He will now be competing in this discipline for the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in Kazakhstan from January 29 - February 8. We wish him every success and, above all, lots of fun!
