The second regional working meeting for the prevention of emergencies in libraries, museums and University archives and for mutual support in emergencies took place on April 18, 2012 in the Görlitz City Library. The aim of the participating institutions is to have a preventative effect and to optimize the protection of cultural assets of the participating institutions. The legal aspects of the agreement are currently being examined by the participating institutions. Dr. Konschak presented the 3 locations of the emergency boxes in the Bautzen City Library, the Oberlausitz Library of Sciences in Görlitz and the University Library in Zittau. These serve as a first aid kit in an emergency and are equipped with rubber gloves, brushes, stretch film, film dispensers, rubber boots and paper towels, among other things.

The next meeting will take place on November 5, 2012.
