Time measurement with method
HSZG students learn to analyze and optimize work processes in the MTM course.
The MTM method (Methods-Time Measurement) establishes a standard for efficient work systems that focus on people and their work. The course for students is offered at the HSZG as an additional qualification in cooperation with the MTM Institute in Zeuthen (near Berlin).
MTM, short for “methods-time measurement,” is a method for analyzing work processes and determining planned and standard times. It is the most widely used “system of predetermined times” in work study and is employed across industries worldwide.
From February 21 to March 4, 2022, the first MTM training program for students took place at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Nine participants from the Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Administration and Engineering Management successfully completed this training.
“MTM for Students” consists of the MTM modules MTM 1-Base and MTM-UAS and is taught using a pedagogical concept developed specifically for colleges and universities. Due to pandemic-related circumstances, the training was conducted online in February.
The “MTM for Students” training program is not only aimed at students of engineering and related fields, but can also be effectively applied, for example, to a wide variety of areas within the nursing profession.
The next training session is scheduled for February/March 2023.
