It has been exactly two months since Environment Day was held at the university in Zittau under the theme “Urban Gardening: Your City. Your Garden.” At the very good-attended event, the next steps for the Amaliengarten project were discussed during the subsequent panel discussion. This also served as the basis for students from the International University Institute Zittau to collect soil samples from the site of the future Amaliengarten. In addition, students—this time from Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences—developed concepts for future uses as part of the course “Ecological Forestry and Agriculture.” The results of this work will be presented on Monday, December 14, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at Cafe Jolesch, Klienebergerplatz 1 in Zittau. In an open and friendly atmosphere, the next steps for implementing the Amaliengarten project will be planned during a workshop. We were able to secure the professional support of Sebastian Kaiser from UFER-Projekte Dresden. Mr. Kaiser has successfully led numerous planning and creative workshops in Dresden and will not only facilitate this workshop but also contribute his expertise. All interested parties are cordially invited.
