At Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Centre for Knowledge Transfer and Education (ZWB)—which is affiliated with the Prorectorate for Education and International Affairs—is implementing the project “Implementing Digitalization in Disciplines in a Participatory Manner: Competencies Connected (D2C2)” a part-time position (20 hours/week) is available as soon as possible as a
Research Assistant (m/f/d) “Cooperative Learning Communities”
- Reference: 40-2024 - D2C2 KLC
for a fixed term ending December 31, 2025.
The position holder will be responsible, in particular, for the following tasks:
- Establishing, coordinating, and supporting a subject-specific “Professional Learning Community” comprising faculty and students in the field of engineering across multiple universities,
- Establishing and evaluating digitally supported teaching, learning, and assessment scenarios (“Scholarship of Teaching and Learning”) in various foundational and applied fields of engineering, as well as in the context of research ethics and Open Science;
- Networking and cooperation with the participating universities as well as within the cooperative network,
- Organizing regular events for inter-university, discipline-specific exchange,
- Regular presentation of project results within the collaborative network, as well as scholarly publications and public outreach on project content,
- Proactive implementation of project progress at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences as part of the development and implementation of a targeted digitalization strategy to promote students’ digital competencies.
The following knowledge and skills are required:
- a completed academic degree in the field of engineering,
- an interest in teaching in the context of digital transformation and digital higher education, as well as in open science in research and teaching,
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently, a good command of English, and proficiency in common word processing and data processing programs as well as digital media,
- willingness to familiarize yourself with topics related to university and media pedagogy, as well as content and learning management systems, and to engage and collaborate within a Saxony-wide team.
In addition, the following are desirable:
- professional experience in higher education,
- knowledge and experience in project management,
- Practical English skills.

Salary is based on pay grade 13 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the candidate meets the personal qualifications. The primary place of work is Zittau.
