How does e-mobility actually work?

Under the open sky and in beautiful October evening weather, the Saxony⁵ project team at HSZG, together with the Zittau Adult Education Center, invited interested citizens on October 8, 2020, to a discussion about electric mobility.

Saxony⁵ staff member Volker Brade presented the university’s electric car, explaining and discussing its operation, advantages, and disadvantages. In addition, the audience tested the charging station and an e-scooter. Finally, guests were able to get a sense of the potential integration of photovoltaics, battery storage, e-mobility, and a combined heat and power plant in the e-mobility showroom, which is currently under construction. This integration of different energy types (“sector coupling”) is intended to ensure a stable supply of electricity and heat, particularly in rural areas:

The topic of the evening provided plenty to talk about and exciting insights into the over 100-year-old but highly topical technology of electromobility.
