The Faculty of Social Sciences was represented with two stands at the 18th German Child and Youth Welfare Day in Leipzig. On the one hand, Daniela Ahrens and Franziska Georgi provided interested parties with information about study opportunities at the faculty and gave them expert advice. On the other hand, Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Andrea G. Eckhardt and Susann Stolle (RAA Hoyerswerda/Ostsachsen e.V.) presented the publication "Kleine Meister - Berufsfrühorientierung für Kinder im Vorschulalter" at the exhibition area of the federal state of Saxony. The educational materials can be used in a variety of ways in daycare centers in everyday integrated work, structured activities and project work, especially to promote precursor skills. In addition to an initial introduction to professions, the materials contain suggestions for shaping the educational partnership with parents and cooperation in the social environment.
Under the motto "LOUD today, STRONG tomorrow", the themed area of the state of Saxony focused on the wide variety of child and youth work offered by different organizations and showed the wide range of offers for the younger generation. All projects share the goal of supporting children and young people as they grow up and preparing them well for their future.
In addition, Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Andrea G. Eckhardt, together with Prof. Ivonne Zill-Sahm (ehs), discussed the mandate for education, upbringing and care according to SGB VIII in the elementary sector at the expert forum "The educational mandate in child daycare" (moderated by Dr. Nicole Wolfram, Xenia Roth), which also addressed the evaluation and updating of the Saxon education plan.
