At Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking to fill a W2 professorship for
“Inclusion and Participation” (m/f/d) — Reference Number SH-041 —
on a full-time basis.
The future incumbent will hold a position in the field of "Inclusion and Participation," with a focus on:
- Theories, concepts, methods, and professional development in the field of special education and inclusive education,
- practices in special and inclusive education across developmental areas and stages,
- participation-oriented assessment and/or pedagogy in the context of special and inclusive education
in lectures, seminars, workshops, internships, and projects, as well as in continuing education. To this end, experience in empirical social research in the field of special and inclusive education is desirable.
Qualifications for Appointment
- a completed academic degree in the field of education or Social Sciences,
- demonstrated pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training,
- a particular aptitude for scholarly work, typically demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral dissertation,
- outstanding achievements in the application or development of scientific findings and methods during a period of professional practice—typically five years—in the field of special education and inclusive education, at least three of which must have been gained outside the higher education sector.
Reference is made to the Act on the Freedom of Universities in the Free State of Saxony (Saxon Higher Education Freedom Act—SächsHSFG) of January 15, 2013 (SächsGVBl., p. 3), as last amended by the Act of June 1, 2022 (SächsGVBl., p. 381).
We expect you to
- to teach classes / courses, if necessary, in fields related to your area of appointment,
- the ability and willingness to teach in English as well,
- a continuous commitment to independently conducting research and development tasks in the field of appointment, in addition to teaching obligations,
- active participation in the internationalization of the university and the further development of the department,
- Assumption of responsibilities in academic self-governance, as well as
- active participation in knowledge and technology transfer projects.
