W2-Professorship " Information Technology/Electromagnetic Compatibility" - Code: EE-048 -

The position involves serving as a substitute for the aforementioned professorship in teaching and research, with a particular focus on the following areas:

• Fundamentals, methods, and applications of automation technology devices in process and production engineering,
• Distributed automation systems,
• Data structures, wireless and wired data transmission,
• communications technology,
• Fundamentals of electromagnetic compatibility.

The professorship is intended, in particular, to meet future requirements in this field while integrating experience and developments from interdisciplinary research and practical application. This also includes the management and further development of the existing EMC laboratory.

In addition to qualifications in the fields of electrical engineering and automation technology, this requires relevant experience in interdisciplinary research or practical application in the areas of communications technology, high-frequency measurement technology, EMC measurement technology, or certification in equipment manufacturing.

Teaching responsibilities must be carried out to a high standard of technical and pedagogical quality in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships, and projects, as well as in continuing education programs, and must be further developed both independently and in close collaboration with the faculties. In doing so, the educational content must also reflect the values and standards of the HSZG regarding responsible conduct toward fellow human beings, society, and the environment.

Teaching in the area of appointment must be ensured university-wide. Therefore, pedagogical and university-level teaching aptitude—particularly with regard to instructing students from other disciplines—is of special interest. If necessary, the appointee may be required to teach classes / courses related to the field of appointment. A practical focus in teaching must be consistently maintained.

Qualifications for Appointment

• a completed academic degree in a field related to the area of appointment,
• demonstrated pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training,
• a particular aptitude for scholarly work, typically demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral dissertation, as well as
• outstanding achievements in the application or development of academic knowledge and methods gained through, as a rule, five years of professional experience, at least three of which must have been gained outside the higher education sector.

• the ability and willingness to teach in English as well,
• a sustained commitment to independently undertaking research and development tasks in your field of appointment in addition to your teaching obligations,
• active participation in the internationalization of the university and the further development of the department,
• the assumption of responsibilities in academic self-governance, as well as
• active participation in projects related to knowledge and technology transfer.
