W2-Professorship " Information Technology/Electromagnetic Compatibility" - Code: EE-048 -

The position includes the representation of the above-mentioned professorship in teaching and research, in particular with the following focal points:

• Fundamentals, methods and applications of automation technology devices in process and production engineering,
• Distributed automation systems,
• data structures, wireless and wireless-connected data transmission,
• communications technology,
• Fundamentals of electromagnetic compatibility.

The professorship is intended to meet future requirements in this field in particular, integrating experience and developments from interdisciplinary research and practical application. This also includes the management and further development of the existing EMC laboratory.

In addition to qualifications in the fields of electrical engineering and automation technology, appropriate experience in interdisciplinary research or practical application in the field of communications technology, high-frequency measurement technology, EMC measurement technology or certification in device construction is required.

The teaching obligations must be implemented in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships and projects as well as in continuing education in a technically and didactically high-quality manner and developed both independently and in close cooperation with the faculties. The educational content must also be in accordance with the values and standards of the HSZG for responsible action towards fellow human beings, society and the environment.

Teaching must be safeguarded throughout the university in the area of appointment. Therefore, pedagogical and university didactic aptitude with regard to teaching students from other disciplines is of particular interest. If necessary, classes / courses related to the area of appointment should be taken on. The practical relevance of teaching activities must be ensured on an ongoing basis.

Appointment requirements

• A completed academic university degree in a subject related to the area of appointment,
• a proven pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training,
• special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate, and
• special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in a professional practice of generally five years, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.
