On September 15, the Chancellor of the HSCG celebrated her 40th anniversary of service.
It was a very special birthday. On September 15, 2021, the Chancellor of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Dipl.-Jur. Karin Hollstein, not only celebrated her 63rd birthday, but also her 40th anniversary of service.
An extraordinary occasion, which was associated with many retrospectives. After completing her degree in law at the Karl Marx University of Leipzig, Ms. Hollstein began her professional career in 1981 as a research assistant at the Zittau University of Engineering.
From 1985 to 1996, she worked as legal counsel at the former Zittau University of Applied Sciences before taking up the post of Head of Human Resources Administration/Legal Counsel and being elected Chancellor of the HSZG for the first time in 2007. She has now held this office for 14 years.
In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Alexander Kratzsch referred to the Chancellor's professional highlights and spoke about her impressive career. He was joined by the Dean and Deans of the University, Treasury Office & Project Administration Jenny König and Head (of Divison) Human Resources and Legal Affairs Christoph Matthias Duscha at the champagne reception held in her honor.
Karin Hollstein was happy to accept the good wishes and congratulations and shared one or two anecdotes in a relaxed atmosphere. These included memories of particularly challenging times such as the reunification period, the development phase of the Structural Law and the floods of 2010.
The move to House Z I on the Zittau campus will also remain in her memory for a long time, as will the shared experiences with the various rectors during her 40-year career. Her time as Head of Human Resources was a good preparation for the Chancellor's Office, which she still fills with great joy and enthusiasm.
