The Saxony University Sports Conference organizes the annual 
Saxon University Championships (SMH) in 17 sports. This year's venue for basketball (men's and women's) was Leipzig. A total of seven universities were represented with their teams. Leipzig University, TU Dresden, TU Chemnitz, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, HTWK Leipzig, TU Freiberg and Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences took part. Our university selection and its squad made it into the match for third place, where the HSZG team won by 45 points to 29, securing 3rd place in the Saxon University Championships. In the final, the TU Dresden team ultimately won against the team from Mittweida University of Applied Sciences by 45 points to 35. The SHM Basketball 2016 will take place in cooperation with the Görlitz basketball club GBC Squirrels in Görlitz. We congratulate our basketball team and look forward to the next competition in Görlitz.
