Quality Designation for Our University
The Friends of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences Association is awarding prizes for outstanding academic achievement in 2021.
Based on recommendations from the faculties, the Friends of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) will once again award prizes this year to the best graduates and students at HSZG.
“I am pleased that we are once again able to recognize students’ academic work this year through awards for outstanding academic achievement,” announced Mario Linack, the association’s president.
”The members of the association foster the exchange of ideas and experiences in the tri-state region among universities, the business community, the political sphere, and the general public. Recognition and promotion of student achievements are one of the association’s key statutory goals.
All six faculties have the opportunity to nominate a student for this award.
Award Criteria
The award recognizes the best academic performance, as measured by grade point average, with special consideration given to the final dissertation. A grade point average of better than 2.0 is required. The prize money amounts to €500.
Eligible to submit nominations are the supervising faculty members, the Student Council, or the students themselves.
All nominations, accompanied by the required documentation, must be submitted to the board of the Friends of the University Association no later than April 15, 2021. Students should therefore submit their nominations to their faculty representatives in a timely manner.

“In recent years, we’ve consistently received outstanding final dissertations for the award. The university’s award winners are proud of their recognition, which has become a true mark of quality for our university,” says Mario Linack, looking forward to this year’s nominations.
