Public Climate School at the HSZG

The new university group "Students for Future HSZG" invites you to take part in an online education program on the climate crisis and climate justice.

Whether country leaders, entrepreneurs or students - everyone agrees: we want and need to protect the climate! But how can we achieve this goal? What strategies are needed to overcome the environmental crises? What factors can we as humanity influence and what are the (re)effects of our decisions?

In order to take effective action against global warming and the associated ecological collapse, we need to know and understand our environment. This requires educational opportunities that are freely accessible to everyone. This is where the Public Climate School comes in.

What is the Public Climate School?

The Public Climate School (PCS for short) is an educational program launched by Students for Future. In a 5-day program, representatives from various areas of society have their say and pass on their knowledge and experience. Different perspectives on the climate crisis will be opened up and solutions discussed. In addition to a morning program aimed directly at students, the PCS timetable includes topics such as society, economics, politics, art and culture. From lectures and interactive workshops on the topic of climate justice to self-care and awareness programs, there is something for everyone.

How do I take part?

Due to the corona situation, the PCS will only take place online this semester. You can access the livestream via the website https://studentsforfuture.info/public-climate-school/. On the site you will also find information material about Students for Future and the PCS program. Customize your curriculum and tune in to the topics that are close to your heart.

University group "Students For Future HSZG"

Students for Future is a working group of Fridays for Future. Students from various colleges and universities in German-speaking countries are involved in this working group. Based on scientific findings, they recognize the climate crisis as an existential and globally massively unjust threat to people and societies worldwide. They are fighting for a future worth living for all and for climate justice.

Since this winter semester, a university group "Students For Future" has also been founded at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
