HSZG congratulates the winners of the second stage of the Saxon Physics Olympiad.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science congratulates the winners of the second stage of the Saxon Physics Olympiad. This recently took place in Löbau at the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium. After the challenging part of the Olympiad - solving the tasks - the participants from the grammar schools in eastern Saxony experienced an interesting supporting program. They were introduced to the celestial bodies and the world of stars as well as the interesting technology surrounding the railroad. In both areas, physics and the description of the observed natural phenomena and their use and calculation play a major role.
Egmont Schreiter from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, representing the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, was particularly pleased that the winners included students who had already completed a project week or a work placement as part of the physics specialist camp at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, including in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This is an example of the good cooperation between regional schools and universities. The early promotion of interested and talented pupils is an important issue for the university. In this way, they can be well prepared for the exciting world of work.
We congratulate the winners Tom Sommer (for grade 10), Paul Linke (for grade 9), Erik Tschierschke (for grade 8), Arian Timm Müller (for grade 7) and all the other winners and wish them lots of fun and success in their work with technology and physics.
