NGO "DapaViva" from Colombia visits the HSZG

As a partner of the NGO "DapaViva", the HSZG supports the preservation and protection of the mountain cloud forests in Colombia

Ana Milena Jimenez, the president of the non-governmental organization (NGO) “DapaViva” from Colombia, was a guest at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Zittau in January and February. Armin Hirche, an ecology student at HSZG who has been active in the NGO for three years, collaborated with Ana on research projects in the Dapa region. (Tip: Read Armin Fischer’s post about the work on the ground on the Green Campus Blog)

During various meetings with Prof. Christa Heidger, Prof. Bernd Delakowitz, and the president, Prof. Friedrich Albrecht, there was a lively exchange of ideas. Promising ideas for further collaboration were developed. The goal now is to bring these ideas to life. Both partners—Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the Colombian NGO “DapaViva”—will contribute creatively to this effort. “DapaViva” is dedicated to the conservation and protection of the mountain cloud forests of the western Andes.
