As part of its “University Development 2030+” initiative, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) is implementing a comprehensive transformation and organizational development process. The goal is to position the university for the future, sharpen its strategic focus, and sustainably enhance its performance in research, teaching, knowledge transfer, and International Affairs. The Senate’s resolutions on structural reform have set the course for these efforts.

In the area of research, this includes, in particular, the further development of research structures and processes, as well as the development and implementation of university-wide strategic programs in the areas of research, early-career researchers, knowledge transfer, and International Affairs.

To support the Vice President for Research, Knowledge Transfer, and International Affairs, the university is seeking a staff member for transformation and organizational development in the area of research. The position will provide organizational, conceptual, and coordinating support for the university-wide change process and assist in the implementation of strategic development and management tasks in the area of research.

In addition, the position will contribute to university-wide coordination, alignment, and communication among the relevant stakeholders and help ensure the structured implementation of the transformation process.

In this role, the incumbent (m/f/d) will be responsible for the following tasks in particular:

  • Supporting the Vice President for Research, Transfer, and International Affairs in the design, management, and implementation of the university-wide transformation and organizational development process in the field of research,
  • Providing conceptual and organizational support for the further development of research structures as well as university-wide transformation processes,
  • Developing, coordinating, and supporting strategic programs and initiatives in the areas of research, early-career researchers, knowledge transfer, and International Affairs,
  • Preparing analyses, decision-making documents, concept papers, reports, and presentations for the university leadership and its committees,
  • Organizing, facilitating, and preparing for and following up on working groups, workshops, and committee meetings,
  • Coordinating collaboration between faculties, research institutions, central administrative units, and external partners,
  • Monitoring the implementation status of strategic measures and supporting quality assurance and evaluation,
  • Supporting internal and external communication as part of the transformation process,
  • Undertaking additional conceptual, coordinating, and organizational tasks on behalf of the Vice President for Research, Transfer, and International Affairs.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

  • a successfully completed university degree relevant to the scope of duties,
  • Experience in project, process, and academic management.

In addition, the following are desirable:

  • knowledge of the structures of universities or research institutions.

  • a structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work,
  • strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills,
  • the ability to work well in a team and confidence in dealing with diverse stakeholder groups,
  • good German and English language skills.

Salary will be paid up to Pay Grade 12 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the personal qualifications are met. The primary place of work is Zittau.
