The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), Research Office (RF), is seeking a competent and motivated individual who would like to advance and help shape research and knowledge transfer in a region undergoing structural change. Research Management and Science Communication Specialist (m/f/d)

for a fixed term until December 31, 2025.
The position focuses on
- research and knowledge transfer management tasks at the university, including advising, coordinating, and supporting researchers in project acquisition and implementation, as well as helping to shape and facilitate (including digital) forms of knowledge transfer with a content focus on the social and cultural sciences,
- conceptual and practical tasks in science communication, including helping to design the university’s website and other publication platforms related to research and knowledge transfer, and supporting event management.
The following knowledge and skills are required
- a completed university degree related to the above-mentioned area of responsibility, e.g., in economics or Social Sciences, sociology, cultural studies, or communication studies,
- academic knowledge and/or professional experience in the areas of research and transfer management as well as (public-facing, including digital) science communication,
- strong communication and organizational skills.
In addition, the following are desirable:
- knowledge of project management, preferably in the field of publicly funded research,
- an affinity for digitalization processes in research and knowledge transfer,
- knowledge of the research region and of regional structural change in Lausitz,
- at least a good command of English and, if possible, proficiency in other foreign languages relevant to the region (Polish, Czech, Sorbian).
We expect you to have
- a strong team spirit,
- an independent, solution-oriented, and proactive approach to work,
- the willingness and ability to quickly and thoroughly familiarize yourself with the institutional and regional context as well as ongoing processes,
- confident and goal-oriented communication skills with various target groups,
- a strong affinity for working with digital tools and excellent communication skills
Salary is based on pay grade 12 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the candidate meets the personal qualifications. The primary place of work is Zittau. The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences strives for a balanced workforce and therefore welcomes applications from individuals of all genders.
