As part of the Microsoft state contract, enrolled students at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and other participating Saxon universities and colleges have the opportunity to use Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (without cloud services) on up to five devices under Windows and MacOS free of charge.
With Office 365 ProPlus, every student who has successfully registered for the service always receives the latest Office version as a subscription at no extra cost. Authentication is required every 30 days in order to use this service. If you fail to authenticate, you can continue to read documents but can no longer edit them. A valid university login is required to use the software.
The ZIH of TU Dresden provides a portal for registration and renewal throughout Saxony, which is used for authentication with a personal user name and password via the respective university. Upon successful registration, an anonymous account is created for the students, with which they can log in directly to the manufacturer Microsoft to download the software. It is not necessary to provide personal data to Microsoft.
