Yesterday, work began on dismantling the last scaffolding on the first construction phase of the Building Z I at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. The now-completed section of the building is being thoroughly cleaned, and the first pieces of furniture have already been delivered.
The new classrooms and workrooms are now being handed over to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in divisions to ensure a smooth start to the academic year.
In addition, the first classes / courses have already been taking place in the new rooms since August 10. The class / course “Railway Control and Safety Technology” is kicking things off with students from the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, the Rhein-Main University of Applied Sciences, the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. To allow for an early start to classes, these labs have already been moved to their new location. Only a few components are still missing before they can be fully utilized for teaching.
Over the next two weeks, the rooms in the rear section of the building that are currently still in use will be cleared out, thereby creating the space needed for the second phase of construction.
