Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences | DAAD Cairo, Egypt | Application deadline: 03.05.2026
We are looking for a full-time Head of the Saxony Science Liaison Office in Cairo, Egypt, to start as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to one year, an extension is planned.
The position is based locally in Cairo. Employment will be through the DAAD Cairo office in accordance with Egyptian labor law and local salary structures for local staff in management positions. This is not a secondment from Germany. The office is integrated into the premises of the DAAD branch office.
The Saxony Science Liaison Office is a joint project of the five Saxon universities of applied sciences: HTW Dresden, HTWK Leipzig, Hochschule Mittweida, Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz and Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau.
The aim of the joint project is to attract qualified young people from Egypt to study and pursue a long-term career in Saxony as part of the Free State of Saxony's skilled labor initiative. The Saxony Science Liaison Office in Cairo is a central liaison office for academic cooperation, partner acquisition and student recruitment.
The operational coordination of the project lies with the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
You will independently set up the liaison office in Cairo and develop it into a central hub for cooperation between Saxon universities and Egyptian partners. You will represent the Saxon universities in Egypt and shape the strategic development of an efficient academic network.
The focus is on two tasks:
You work closely with the DAAD office in Cairo and are in continuous contact with the participating universities in Saxony.
