The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has a part-time position (30 hours/week) available at the 'Studienkolleg' (preparatory college), starting March 1, 2025, as
Lecturer with a Specified Function / German as a Foreign Language (DaF) (m/f/d)

to be filled on a permanent basis.
The position involves the following duties in particular:
- Conducting classes / courses independently and on one’s own responsibility,
- Conducting performance assessments (preparation, administration, evaluation),
- teaching basic intercultural knowledge,
- administering exams in the subject of German as a Foreign Language (in accordance with the Saxon FSPVO, TI and WW courses),
- Second-round grading and oral examinations in other courses and subjects,
- Assisting with administrative and self-governing tasks at the 'Studienkolleg' (preparatory college).
The following knowledge and skills are required:
- a completed college degree related to the above-mentioned area of responsibility (ideally in German as a Foreign Language [DaF] or German Studies, or supplemented by comparable extensive professional knowledge and experience),
- pedagogical and didactic skills in teaching,
- Experience conducting classes / courses for international students as part of preparatory studies,
- Native speaker or excellent German language skills,
- strong communication and intercultural skills, as well as sensitivity in dealing with international applicants for admission.
In addition, the following are desirable:
- experience with modern media,
- additional language skills that can be put to practical use.

Salary will be based on Pay Grade 10 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement if the candidate meets the personal and professional requirements, or on Pay Grade 11 if the candidate holds a university degree in a scientific field.
