This year, the regional trade fair started with a completely new concept - because the youngest visitors were the focus of attention in the "Flower Hall"! The aim was not to promote products as at a conventional event. Rather, the aim was for them to take part - at the many exhibitors' experimental stands.
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences presented itself in a variety of ways - just like the range of courses on offer at our institution. Microorganisms could be viewed through microscopes and rocks could be examined. The computer scientists enticed visitors with their drone aircraft - and the electrical engineers with their programmable robots. And at the "pumped storage plant", visitors could experience how electricity is generated from hydropower through energy conversion. You had to pedal hard beforehand!
Many HSZG students were on hand to supervise the experimental stations and explain technical and scientific concepts in a simple, understandable way. Always in the hope that the one or other curious person might later become a student at our university.
The hustle and bustle at the stands proved that this new trade fair concept was very well received by the visitors - we would welcome a repeat next year!
