Kazakh student group visits the HSZG

From March 6 to 12, 2016, eleven master’s students from TURAN University spent time as visiting students at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, doctoral and master’s students are required by law to take advantage of study opportunities abroad and receive financial support from the government to do so.

This was yet another occasion on which our university welcomed students from Almaty. This time, the students were majoring in finance, management, and computer science. The project assignments they were tasked with focused on substantive and organizational aspects of higher education in Germany. In addition, significant attention was paid to technical and financial solutions to energy supply problems in Germany. The visits to the Energy Technology Cabinet (Mr. Wodarzack) and the Geothermal Laboratory (Mr. Schäfer) were particularly helpful in this regard.

Of course, we also took the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the history, urban development, and urban renewal of Zittau and Görlitz.

Thanks to the active involvement of university staff (the Rector’s Office, Ms. Schubert, Mr. Bienert, and Mr. Hummel) and the Student Services Office, we were able to share the extensive positive experiences our university has in providing high-quality, practice-oriented education.
