International students are interested in studying at the HSZG

About 20 international students from the Private Studienkolleg Leipzig visited Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences to learn about the wide range of academic programs available. These students are currently completing a preparatory program and will take the qualifying exam next year. Once they pass, they will be eligible for admission to German universities.
The Private Studienkolleg Leipzig-Halle-Neuzelle, which has since become part of the internationally active education company Rahn-Education, has been working closely with Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences for 20 years.
The students were accompanied by the director of the 'Studienkolleg', Dr. Al Meklef, and the German as a Foreign Language (DaF) instructor, Mr. Neitzke. The main goal was to familiarize themselves with the engineering faculties and the corresponding degree programmes; most of the students are preparing for a technical degree: automation technology, Mechanical Engineering, and energy and environmental engineering are the top priorities for these prospective students.
The KIA (sandwich-style) degree course also generated a great deal of interest. In recent years, several international students have already chosen this path and completed an apprenticeship at a local company while pursuing their studies.
"The outcome of the informational visit was very positive; some students spontaneously decided to enroll in a program here and have already inquired in detail about the application process. We will continue to support them and hope to welcome them to the enrolment ceremony next year,” summarizes Dr. Kühne, head of the Student Services & International Affairs division at HSZG.

The Leipzig Studienkolleg of Rahn Education Study and Training is a private Studienkolleg. It is an affiliated institute of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, which also administers the placement exam. The 'Studienkolleg' (preparatory college) has been operating successfully for more than 20 years and is an institution of the nonprofit school association Dr. P. Rahn & Partner. Rahn Education is a nonprofit educational organization with 40 educational facilities in Germany and abroad.
