In "Blue Engineering", students should be made aware of their social and ecological responsibility as early as possible.
In the current winter semester, the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management is training "engineers with heart" in the class / course Business Software. The class / course combines the various key topics of project management and blue engineering with an understanding of high-tech technologies in the context of Industry 4.0 in an innovative way. The aim of blue engineering is to sensitize students to their social and ecological responsibility as early as possible, as the mostly purely technical content of the course only represents a section of engineering work. In the practical part of the course, students have the task of realizing a real project.
They will be supported by an interdisciplinary team of lecturers consisting of Professor Sophia Keil, Christiane Matthieu from the Public Relations Office and Daniel Winkler from the Learning to Learn 2 project. Before the Christmas vacations, the students are to hold a free and meaningful event for children on the trendy topic of 3D printing in order to familiarize the children with the technology and provide them with pre-Christmas fun. At the same time, the university should be perceived as an organization that is aware of its social, economic and ecological responsibility in the Upper Lusatia region. After the degree of the class / course, you will find out in the next article how the students mastered the practical part and what conclusions the module leaders draw.
