The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), Division of Technical Administration & Facility Services (DTG), has an opening (40 hours per week) effective January 1, 2024, for the position of
Facilities Manager (m/f/d)
- Reference: Building Services Görlitz -
permanent position.
The position essentially involves the following responsibilities:
- Inspection and monitoring of electrical, plumbing, heating, and elevator systems in HSZG properties,
- Carrying out maintenance, renovation, and minor repairs,
- Ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and maintaining order, safety, and cleanliness,
- Providing in-house technical services for HSZG faculties, administration, and central facilities, in particular:
- Organizing and overseeing waste disposal,
- Transportation services,
- Inspection of lecture halls and seminar rooms,
- Cleaning and maintenance of access areas and outdoor facilities in the entrance areas of the buildings, including winter maintenance, as well as
- managing the central warehouse at the Zittau location on an acting basis.
The following knowledge and skills are required:
- Completed vocational training in a trade,
- Class B driver’s license.
In addition, the following are desirable:
- Relevant professional experience,
- Experience working within the organizational structure of public institutions.
We expect you to have
- flexibility in terms of working hours to support the technical services for HSZG conferences and events,
- willingness to participate in technical on-call duty and to work at the Zittau office as needed,
- competence and a professional demeanor when interacting with various stakeholders,
- a high degree of independence, a sense of responsibility, and reliability,
- a team-oriented and service-oriented approach to work.
Salary for employees covered by the collective bargaining agreement will be determined in accordance with Pay Grade 5 of the TV-L, provided the required qualifications are met. The primary place of work is Görlitz. A probationary period will be agreed upon.
