Voluntary service "kulturweit" discusses good living in Germany at the HSZG on May 4
On May 4, kulturweit, the international youth volunteer service of the German UNESCO Commission, is hosting a discussion at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. From 4 to 7 p.m., kulturweit will be debating the question of what constitutes a good life in Germany and how volunteering can contribute to this. The event is part of the Federal Government's Citizens' Dialogue "A good life in Germany - what is important to us".
"Voluntary service abroad gives young people the opportunity to get involved around the world and gain important learning experiences," says kulturweit Director Anna Veigel. "Above all, they help to break down prejudices and offer the chance to take a different, critical look at Germany," Veigel continues.
The discussion will focus on how these experiences can contribute to a good life in Germany and help German society move forward. The event, which is open to all interested parties, will take place at the university campus in Görlitz in House G I, Room 2.23. Registrations are accepted by kulturweit by e-mail until April 30 at kontakt(at)kulturweit.de.
The nationwide Citizens' Dialogues are an initiative of the German government. The results are scientifically evaluated and lead to a report on the status and development of quality of life in Germany. Building on this, the Federal Government intends to take concrete measures to improve the quality of life with an action plan.
kulturweit is a project of the German UNESCO Commission, funded by the Federal Foreign Office. The voluntary service enables people between the ages of 18 and 26 to spend a voluntary social year in foreign cultural and educational policy institutions and UNESCO National Commissions worldwide.
