Foundation stone for cross-border cooperation
HSZG and Škoda Auto a.s. sign a cooperation agreement for cross-border collaboration.
On Monday, June 16, 2025, Škoda Auto a.s., the Czech automaker and a member of the Volkswagen Group, and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences signed a cooperation agreement that lays the foundation for close cross-border collaboration in the Saxon-Czech border region.
The goal of the partnership is to provide HSZG students with practical insights into the industrial work environment of an internationally active company while also initiating joint research activities. The cooperation will focus on internships for students at Škoda Auto a.s., field trips to the company, and joint thesis projects. Specialized lectures by Škoda employees and increased collaboration in teaching and research are also planned.

Alexandra vom Hofe (Head of Recruitment and Employer Branding) and Mgr. Markéta Jarošová, MBA (Expert Coordinator of Cooperation with Schools) took part in the signing of the contract on behalf of Škoda Auto a.s.. On behalf of the HSZG, Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Meinert (Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Dr. Karel Frana (contact person for the cooperation) signed the contract.
The HSZG is looking forward to a forward-looking partnership with Škoda Auto a.s., which will further strengthen the bridge between theory and practice across borders.
