Foundation stone for cross-border cooperation
HSZG and Škoda Auto a.s. sign a cooperation agreement for cross-border collaboration.
On Monday, June 16, 2025, Škoda Auto a.s., the Czech automaker and a member of the Volkswagen Group, and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences signed a cooperation agreement that lays the foundation for close cross-border collaboration in the Saxon-Czech border region.
The goal of the partnership is to provide HSZG students with practical insights into the industrial work environment of an internationally active company while also initiating joint research activities. The cooperation focuses on internships for students at Škoda Auto a.s., field trips to the company, and joint final dissertations. Lectures by Škoda employees and increased collaboration in teaching and research are also planned.

Jens Meinert (Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), and Prof. Dr. Karel Frana (Cooperation Liaison) signed the agreement.
