A student project is opening the "WanderbücherboXX Europa" at Café Central in Görlitz on September 1st.
The student project "Sustainable Book BoXX" of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences opens the "WanderbücherboXX Europa" at Café Central on Berliner Straße in Görlitz on 01.09.2017 at 11 a.m.
After a semester of preparation, the time has come - the book boXX of the project of the same name by students of social work will be set up and inaugurated. The project group cordially invites all interested parties to the opening ceremony on September 1, 2017 from 11 am. You can expect a presentation of the project by its members, musical accompaniment and a craft stall for children. Guests include the Lord Mayor of Görlitz, Siegfried Deinege, and the Rector of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Professor Dr. Friedrich Albrecht.
The "WanderbücherboXX Europa" is a converted and visually redesigned telephone box that is used for the free exchange of books. "Bring a book, take a book, read a book" - this is the motto of the BücherboXX, which is accessible to everyone.
The mini street library originates from Berlin and was developed by the Institute for Sustainability in Education, Work and Culture (INBAK), the project partner. The BücherboXX will be on trial in Görlitz for a total of 3 months. During this time, the students will research the impact and use of the Görlitz citizens and visitors in order to be able to pass on the original idea of a permanent BücherboXX for Görlitz to subsequent students. For 6 weeks, the "WanderbücherboXX Europa" will initially be located at Café Central, on the corner of Berliner Straße and Hospitalstraße. On October 13, 2017, it will then change its location to Wilhelmsplatz.
Anyone interested in supporting the project or who has questions can contact the students by email: projekt-buecherboXX@hszg.de. Further information can be found on the project's Facebook page under "Görlitzer BücherboXX".
As the project is run by students, it is dependent on donations. The students would be very grateful for your help and have launched an appeal for donations on their Facebook page "Görlitzer BücherboXX" .
