E-learning for all

The HSZG and its interdisciplinary SCO-TTi team research, develop and coordinate contributions to the digitalization of teaching.

Initiated and overseen by the E-Learning Working Group of the Saxon State Conference of School Principals, five collaborative projects were launched on March 1, 2022, to continue the work under the “Saxony Education Portal” initiative. The goal is to develop digital infrastructures so that the potential of digitally supported learning can be harnessed as effectively and efficiently as possible for students and faculty in the Free State of Saxony.

Our university is once again actively represented in the initiative:

  • Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Uwe Wendt ( member of the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management) is leading the collaborative project “Educational Equity, Access, and Openness, which focuses on equalizing educational opportunities by optimizing educational platforms and access to e-learning content.
  • Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Sophia Keil (member of the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management) is leading the subproject “Virtual Reality for Operations Management” ( VR4OM), which is being developed as part of the collaborative project “Innovation Fund / Open Topics.” The project aims to design and test a low-threshold, immersive application for practical, competency-based learning using virtual reality, using production management as an example. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of production management in a playful way by allowing them to navigate real manufacturing environments using VR.

Both projects will run until December 31, 2023. Further information on the collaborative projects can be found on the Saxony Education Portal website.

Next steps

On September 22, 2022, the "Workshop on e-Learning" (WeL'22) will take place at our Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Among other things, the collaborative projects of the E-Learning Working Group will be presented there.

You can find more information about the event here (participation is free for HSZG members).
