A play was performed in which Egon and his Olsen Gang attempted to crack the safe on the Zittau campus. The play incorporated numerous chemical experiments prepared by the students in the chemistry program. The audience was treated to a variety of humorous dialogues paired with flashes of light, fire, and smoke, colorful visual effects, flying ping-pong balls, and an impressive closing fireworks display. The Chancellor of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences—Ms. Karin Hollstein—and Professor Klaus Seibt also made guest appearances.
