On December 15, 2015, the Christmas lecture in chemistry, organized by
the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences at the
A play was performed in which Egon and his Olsen Gang attempted to crack the safe on the Zittau campus. Numerous chemical experiments, prepared by the students in the chemistry degree programme, were integrated into the performance. The audience was treated to a variety of humorous dialogues paired with flashes of light, fire and smoke, color effects, flying ping-pong balls, and an impressive closing fireworks display. The Chancellor of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences—Ms. Karin Hollstein—and Professor Klaus Seibt also made guest appearances.
