German scholarships for the 2019/2020 academic year

Since 2011, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has participated in the Germany Scholarship program. For the 2018/2019 winter semester, our university was able to award 15 scholarships to students from various degree programmes.

Commitments have already been made to support students at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences for the 2019–2020 academic year through the co-funding of one or more Germany Scholarships.

You may apply by July 31, 2019, (postmark date) by submitting a written application (not by email) to the Rector, Prof. Dr. phil. Friedrich Albrecht, (Theodor-Körner-Allee 16, 02763 Zittau): application for a Deutschlandstipendium:

• a letter of motivation no longer than two pages
• a tabular resume
• degree certificate for university entrance qualification; for foreign degree certificates, a translation and conversion to the German grading system
• if applicable, proof of any special qualifications that qualify the applicant to study in the respective degree programme at the University of Zittau/Görlitz
• For applicants making an application for admission to a Master's degree programme: a degree certificate for a first university degree and, if applicable, additional transcripts of records in accordance with the admission and selection requirements for the Master's degree programme
• if applicable, documentation of academic achievements to date
• if applicable, internship and employment references, as well as evidence of special awards and prizes, other skills, and additional involvement

If the application documents are not written in German or English, an officially certified translation into German must be included.

Applications must be submitted for the degree programme in which the applicant is enrolled or has applied for enrollment.

The submission of applications can be made to the Rector’s Office (Building Z I, Room 1.56).

The standard award period covers one academic year (September 1, 2019 – August 31, 2020). The monthly grant amount is €300.

Applications that are not submitted by the deadline or in the proper form will not be considered in the selection process. The application is based on the Regulations on the Awarding of Germany Scholarships dated June 28, 2011.
