That was more than OK!

HSZG presented itself last weekend at the first Oberlausitzer Karrieretage (OK) in the Löbau exhibition hall.

On October 16 and 17, 2021, the Oberlausitzer Karrieretage celebrated its premiereat Messepark Löbau - the trade fair for work, training and study in the region. Over 100 regional institutions from the districts of Görlitz and Bautzen presented themselves at the event. The focus was on filling vacancies, from training and studies to jobs.

The exhibitors were delighted to welcome 2,100 targeted visitors. Many were looking for apprenticeships and university places. But skilled workers were also looking for new challenges, some of them from faraway places who were drawn back home. The offer was rounded off with information on further education, reorientation for those in employment and start-up advice.

As one of the most important players in the Upper Lusatian scientific and economic landscape, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was of course a must at such an event. Together with other partner institutions, we presented our services at the SIEMENS ENERGY INNOVATIONSCAMPUS joint stand. As the trade fair was aimed at people with different concerns and interests, the HSZG trade fair team had a broad base:

  • David Sauer from the Start-up Academy for people interested in setting up their own business,
  • Heike Kallweit from the Department of Human Resources and Law for those interested in jobs,
  • Alina Bulcsu from the Department of Studies and International Affairs for prospective students,
  • Sabine Scholz from the Research Unit for those interested in research and transfer, and
  • Nora Terlunen from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering for those interested in our KIA dual study program.

This meant that every need for information could be met individually and targeted advice could be provided.

The response at the stand was very good. We had a lot of really good conversations, especially with prospective students and their parents. Our flyers about the courses on offer were very popular and were just enough," says David Sauer about the two days at the fair.

Our summary is therefore unanimous: "The Oberlausitzer Karrierteage were more than just OK!" The HSZG will definitely be there again.

Make a note!

The next edition of the Oberlausitzer Karrieretage is planned for the first weekend in October 2022.
