At the Kamenz Career Market 2021, many guests were interested in the courses offered by the HSZG.
The open-air careers market 2021 took place on Saturday, July 10. From 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. around the tower at the airfield in Kamenz, interested students and their parents as well as other interested visitors were able to talk to the more than 50 exhibitors in person about their companies, professions, fields of work and apprenticeships and make contacts.
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was also there and attracted a lot of attention with our strikingly designed university bus and the inscription "study here" on the approx. 9,000 m² site. The university had two STEM trail stations in its luggage, where the students were able to test and try things out for themselves.
According to the organizer, 1,250 visitors came to the careers market for career guidance. The HSZG advice stand was very well attended. In many individual counseling sessions, students from different grades and their parents were informed about the various study opportunities at our university.
"The study information was particularly relevant on this day for pupils in grades seven to nine - including those with a secondary school leaving certificate - who can still obtain their university entrance qualification. It was important to communicate that the path to university is also open to them," reports Karen Kobelt.
The person responsible for the Come-In Weeks at the HSZG and study scout for the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences represented the university on site with her colleague Fred Haaser and held many interesting discussions. She believes that face-to-face appointments like these have been particularly important for making personal contact with prospective students since the coronavirus pandemic, because "during the consultations, it has always been possible to break the ice about studying and link personal interests with HSZG degree courses."
