The HSZG's Children's Academy and Senior College are once again offering a varied program in the 2018 summer semester.
Learning for a lifetime. From childhood to old age. The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is also committed to this motto.
Under the heading of lifelong learning, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences offers special courses every semester as part of its children's academy and the SeniorenKolleg at the Zittau and Görlitz campuses. Scientists from various disciplines introduce children aged eight to 12 to the exciting world of science. Scientific lectures, discussions, seminars and excursions are the focus of the SeniorenKolleg, which is aimed at interested older citizens of the district.
In the summer semester 2018, the semester opening of the StudienKolleg will take place on 14.03.2018 in Görlitz . Prof. Dr. phil. Andreas Hoff, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Director of the research institute "Health, Ageing, Technology (GAT)", will report on the latest news from the research project "Trust in assistance technologies for inclusion in old age (VATI)" from 4 p.m. at the Hermann-Heitkamp-Haus in Görlitz.
The SeniorenKolleg in Zittau will kick off the semester with the event "What does the US atomic bombing of Japan in 1945 have to do with Upper Lusatia today?" Interested visitors can look forward to the lecture on 21.03.2018 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dieter Engelage from 16:15 in the Peter-Dierich Haus.
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences Senior Citizens' College is cooperating with the Görlitz District Senior Citizens' Council. Support is provided by the Förderverein der Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz e. V. and the university's Studium fundamentale.
In the first half of 2018, the Zittau Children 's Academy will start its 23rd semester on 23.03.2018 with the lecture "Volcanoes - Showcases into the Earth's Interior". Interested children aged eight to 12 can attend this explosive event at Peter-Dierich Haus from 3.00 pm.
The Görlitz Children's Academy is already in its 27th semester. At the next event, it will be seemingly Christmassy when Prof. Dr. Hayk Mashuryan from the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences (MdM) explores the question: "What does Santa's house have to do with mathematics?" on 16.03.2018 from 16:00 in the Hermann-Heitkamp-Haus.
