On February 27, 2020, 15 equal opportunities officers from Saxon universities met to define common goals and position themselves as one.
The equal opportunities officers and stakeholders at universities and colleges in Saxony are organized in a state conference (LakoG). On Thursday, 27.02.2020, 15 of them met at our university to define common goals and position themselves as one.
The now former rector of our university, Prof. Alberecht, welcomed the participants. Subsequently, complex topics were discussed, structured and prioritized over several hours. Despite the different sizes, structures and facilities of the institutions, there are numerous overarching challenges, such as improving the self-image of gender equality work and the need to adapt legal regulations.
Numerous ideas for implementation were developed to ensure that these are not just declarations of intent. The aim is to draw up a LakoG position paper. To this end, there will be another general meeting later this year, which will take place at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
