SAENA and IHK Dresden entrust the HSZG with the moderation and implementation of the "Energy Efficiency Network Upper Lusatia"
The companies that met on June 20, 2016 for the kick-off event of the "Energy Efficiency Network Upper Lusatia" (EEN-OL) are certainly not tired of being active. On the contrary, the desire to share experiences on the topic of operational energy efficiency brought them together. What are other companies doing in this area? What experiences are there with which technical solutions? What has worked well, what has worked less well? How can mistakes be avoided when implementing energy efficiency measures? How can employees be involved in the implementation? These are some of the questions on which an EEN-OL exchange is planned. In addition to this and the transfer of specific energy knowledge through specialist presentations, the focus is on learning together from experience and getting to know each other better. To this end, the upcoming meetings will take place alternately at the participating companies.
In 2014, the German government and business associations/organizations reached an agreement on the introduction of energy efficiency networks, which was also included in the German government's "National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency" (NAPE). The agreement includes the initiation and implementation of around 500 energy efficiency networks in Germany by the end of 2020. The EEN-OL is the fourth network in Saxony after Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig. They were all set up by the network sponsors, the Saxon Energy Agency GmbH (SAENA) as well as the chambers of industry and commerce and the chambers of skilled trades in Saxony. The moderation and technical design of the EEN-OL was entrusted to a team from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on the basis of a public tendering procedure.
The kick-off meeting on 20.6.2016 served to develop the topics of the network meetings together with the companies. This ensures that the planned meetings are not carried out according to a prefabricated plan, but are geared towards the needs of the companies. For example, the following topics are planned for the next meetings, based on the survey of company expectations and taking into account the level of energy management maturity already achieved:
In order to make a contribution to improving energy efficiency and climate protection, the EEN-OL will commit to an energy savings target to be achieved at the end of the two-year networking period. This target is derived from the company's individual energy saving targets, potentials and opportunities. The implementation of the network target is to be evaluated by an independent scientific institute commissioned by the federal government. The network is financed by SAENA GmbH, with the companies making their own contribution of 800 euros per year (net).
