Degree of the 2016 seminar series at iTN

During the winter semester, approximately 20 students in the Ecology and Environmental Protection degree programme regularly attended the lectures and workshops offered as part of the environmental engineering seminar “Science & Practice.” Speakers from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the HTW in Dresden, the TU Dresden (ihi), the TU Liberec, Charles University in Prague, and company representatives provided the students with in-depth specialized knowledge. Through practical examples, provided measurement equipment, and the use of simulation software, the students were able to apply what they had learned.

After successfully participating in all 10 iTN seminars held, the students received their certificates on December 20, 2016. These were presented during a ceremony by Prof. Schoenherr, the TESEUS project manager.

These events were held as part of the TESEUS project and funded by the EU’s SN-CZ 2014–2020 program to promote cross-border cooperation between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic.

The main objective of the TESEUS project is to bring together different fields of expertise in order to create the conditions for improved use of regional environmental resources. The events are taking place at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences at the Institute for Process Development, Peat, and Natural Products Research (iTN) under the project leadership of Prof. Schoenherr. Other project partners include the Dresden University of Applied Sciences, the Technická univerzita v Liberci, and Univerzita Karlova, Prague.
