The Ambient Assisted Living laboratory in Görlitz can now also be visited virtually.
After intensive efforts, the new 360° panoramic view of the Ambient Assisted Living Lab (AAL Lab) Görlitz is now available (de/eng). There you can experience a virtual tour of the lab in the Frauenburgkarree. You can find out about the premises and assistance solutions and get to know the lab from the inside.
Technical support systems have now arrived in many older people's households, whether for entertainment or support. Digital skills are now associated with social participation and more and more older people are turning to new communication technologies to stay in touch with relatives and friends or to keep up to date. The crisis acts like a magnifying glass, which, according to the German Gerontological Society's (DGGG) Expert Committee on Ageing and Technology, should encourage more thought and research into the topics of ageing and digitalization, because digital skills are becoming key competencies that create a certain pressure to act among older people. Due to the corona pandemic, we unfortunately had to close the lab temporarily. After the lockdown, we plan to reopen to a specialist audience with small groups.
Until then, guided tours of the virtual lab can be requested using an audio and video conferencing function within Rundblick.
