KIA is a dual university program that integrates vocational training and leads to two degrees: a skilled worker certification (with an IHK or HWK chamber exam) and a university degree (Bachelor or Diplom). You’ll earn your skilled worker certification after a shortened two-and-a-half-year training program, culminating in an exam administered by the IHK or HWK, and after an additional two years (for a Bachelor’s program) or two-and-a-half years (for a Diplom program), you’ll have your university degree in hand.

KIA direct is a practice-integrated degree program. During your break from classes, your work placement semester, and while working on your Bachelor or Diplom thesis, you’ll gain valuable experience at your training company.
