The University Information Day, strong trade fair appearances and the award as the most popular university in Saxony show the great interest in the HSZG.
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences started 2026 with a great response, numerous discussions and a special award. Several events in January impressively demonstrated the strong interest in studying at the HSZG and confirmed its role as an attractive university with a personal atmosphere and practical study programs.
The online university information day kicked off on January 15, 2026, giving prospective students a comprehensive insight into the range of courses on offer. A total of 34 degree courses were presented, supplemented by student sessions, taster lectures, information stands and live talks.
The feedback was consistently positive: participants particularly highlighted the personal insights from students and the informal atmosphere. It is also noticeable that the visibility of the event was significantly increased: Page views of the event page more than doubled compared to the previous year.
Many of the participants came from the region of Saxony and the neighboring districts, which underlines the university's strong regional roots. At the same time, the interest in a wide range of study subjects demonstrates the broad spectrum of subjects offered by the HSZG.
From January 23 to 25, the HSZG presented itself at the KarriereStart fair in Dresden with great success. The university stand was highly frequented, with counseling sessions taking place at times. Visitors were particularly interested in degree courses such as social work, childhood education, teaching, the management orientation course and the dual and cooperative study programs.
The mobile learning location, the Airlab university trailer, once again proved to be a real eye-catcher and attracted numerous interested visitors. The personal advice and course overviews were also very well received by visitors.
The successful month was rounded off with participation in the Zukunftsnavi career fair in Bautzen on January 31, 2026. The event provided an important platform for regional school pupils to find out more about studying. The dual and cooperative study programs offered by the HSZG in particular met with great interest. It was possible to hold 22 in-depth consultations on these study models alone. Due to the positive response, the fair will remain an integral part of the university's study orientation activities in the future.
The university also received special recognition at the beginning of the year: According to the StudyCheck Ranking 2026, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is the most popular university in Saxony. This award is based on the ratings of students and alumni and underlines the high level of satisfaction with study conditions, support and study atmosphere.
The successful response to the start of the year shows how great the interest in the university is. Prospective students and all those who are curious are therefore cordially invited to get to know the HSZG in person on Open University Day on March 21, 2026 at both campuses in Zittau and Görlitz.
