The successful format for active transfer entered its 8th round on January 12 at the HSZG and met with great interest.
At the beginning of the new year, entrepreneurs from the region met with "their" university lecturers for the eighth time as part of the "Business meets Science" event at the Zittau location of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Following what is now a good tradition, the General Business Association Zittau und Umgebung e.V. (AUV), the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Zittau and Görlitz branches, the Dresden Chamber of Crafts and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences invited to this New Year's reception.
The approximately 150 participants, 100 of whom were representatives of companies, confirmed once again that the organizers have created an interesting opportunity for close cooperation between science and business in our region. Through this opportunity for direct contact, new ideas are constantly being developed and projects initiated.
On this evening, the focus was on the cooperation between the HSZG and the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. On the one hand, the companies were informed about the large-scale HSZG project "LaNDER3" and invited to actively participate in the project. Secondly, there was a presentation on the current research topics and services offered by the Fraunhofer Plastics Center Zittau, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the university. This was followed by a tour of the Fraunhofer Technical Center, which only opened in November last year.
The event participants were also interested in the tours of the production and manufacturing technology laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the HSZG. The technical equipment on the basis of which a state-of-the-art mechanical engineering course is offered in Zittau is impressive.
