More equality for women in STEM

On February 25, 2026, the closing event of the project “Shaping regional transformation for all – new regional perspectives for women using the example of the DZA” (project abbreviation: Trafo*NOVA) took place at Rabryka.

The project was conducted under the direction of Dr. Anika Noack (SPRINT – scientific policy consulting) in cooperation with the German Center for Astrophysics (DZA) and researched the working and living conditions, arrival conditions, and satisfaction of DZA employees.
Bernadette Rohlf (TRAWOS employee) gave the keynote speech at the event. Under the title “Equality in STEM professions: Perspectives on an unfair system,” she presented her research findings and spoke about the self-image of women in academic STEM professions and possible measures for achieving equality. During a panel discussion in the afternoon, the Trafo*NOVA project results were discussed by Katharina Henjes-Kunst (DZA), Alexander Welk (DZA), Ines Kuchel (ver.di), and Bernadette Rohlf.
