On April 24, the Lausitz Economic Initiative awarded the Lausitz Science Transfer Prize (LWTP)—with a total prize fund of 10,000 euros—to three collaborative projects from the region for the sixth time. Among the winners is a project from Zittau. In collaboration with the HSZG, USE MY ENERGY GmbH Zittau expanded the functionality of its software with the goal of increasing the efficiency of decentralized energy generation systems. The jury recognized this achievement with second place and a prize of 3,000 euros.
“Evaluating the submitted entries was once again an exciting process for the jury this year; it was not easy to make a selection. The innovations now being honored stand out even more from all the competition entries due to their high level of innovation and met the jury’s standards to a great extent: Their approach is exceptionally creative, and the benefits are very significant for both the participating companies and the universities. My congratulations go out to the award winners, as well as to the other participants. They all breathe life into the oft-used term “innovation.” They are outstanding examples of the innovative strength of the Lausitz economic region.”

The award ceremony took place on the BTU campus in Senftenberg. Representatives of the participating companies from Bronkow, Zittau, and Luckau, as well as from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and HSZG, accepted the awards. A total of eight projects had been submitted.
