The new "VODAMIN II" project was presented at the Zittau landfill workshop.
The 13th Landfill Workshop, which was jointly organized by the Institute of Mechatronics and Computer Science(MTI) of the Technical University in Liberec(TUL) and the Institute for Process Development, Peat and Natural Materials Research(iTN) of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) as part of the TESEUS project, took place from 9 to 10 November in the great ambience of the council chamber in the town hall of Zittau. Speakers from the field, public authorities and research institutions contributed with their presentations to the joint discussion and interesting discussions. The approximately 100 participants showed cross-border interest in the topic of "Landfills - material flows and landfill decommissioning" and in current issues arising from the hierarchy of waste management.

The new "VODAMIN II" project was also presented at the landfill workshop by the lead partner, the Ústí State Fuel Combine. VODAMIN II is funded by the European Union as part of the "Free State of Saxony - Czech Republic 2014-2020" cooperation program. The project partners involved are the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the Technical University of Ostrava, the iTN of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and SAXONIA Standortentwicklungs- und -verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH. The aim is to systematically investigate the influence of mine and tailings water on groundwater and surface water in the Saxon-Czech mining area.
