Purposes of data processing
As part of a research project, the HSZG is collecting personal data through interviews for the purpose of pretesting a questionnaire module on experiences of discrimination at the HSZG. The analysis of the collected personal data is intended to determine how different groups of people understand the questions and response categories in the questionnaire module. Based on these results, improved wording for the questions and response categories will be developed.
Categories of personal data
The answers given by the participants in the interviews constitute personal data that are processed by the HSCG as part of the research project. The following categories of personal data are processed for the aforementioned purposes.
- age
- Gender
- Status group (professor, lecturer, student, etc.)
- Place of work (Zittau or Görlitz)
- Points of contact with the topic of discrimination
- Audio recording of the interview
Legal basis
The processing of personal data from the interviews is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of informed consent. If special categories of personal data are processed in accordance with Art. 9 para. 1 GD PR, this is done on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a GDPR.
Recipients
The HSCG only discloses personal data to the following internal recipients for the purposes of this processing activity:
- Members of the research team
The HSZG does not directly transfer personal data to a third country or an international organization.
Storage duration
Without prejudice to your right to erasure(Art. 17 GDPR), the data will be stored for the duration of the fulfillment of their collection purposes until the end of the winter semester 2023/24
Rights of the data subjects
As a person affected by the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights if the legal requirements are met:
- You have the right to information about the processing of your personal data(Art. 15 GDPR).
- You have the right to rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you (Art.16 GDPR)
- You have the right to erasure of your personal data (Art.17 GDPR).
- You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data (Art.18 GDPR)
- You have the right to data portability of your personal data (Art.20 GDPR)
- You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time (Art.21 GDPR)
- You have the right to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out on the basis of your consent until revocation remains unaffected(Art. 13 para. 2 lit. c GDPR).
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Saxon data protection officer

Provision of personal data
The provision of personal data is not required by law or contract in accordance with Art. 13 (2) lit. e GDPR.
Decision-making and profiling
This processing activity does not involve automated decision-making or profiling in accordance with Art. 22 GDPR.
